Becoming Medically Eligible for an AugCom Device

1. Just having a diagnosis of ALS is not sufficient to obtain an AugCom system

2. You must see a licensed SLP (Speech Language Pathologist); usually at one of our ALS clinics and be "assessed" for eligibility.

  • The ALS clinics for Georgia are in Atlanta (Emory) and Augusta (MCG). In addition there are other centers in Jacksonville FL, Charlotte NC and Wake Forest NC

  • Other Georgia cities where you may obtain access to an SLP assessment include Savannah, Athens, Demorest, Rome, Macon-Warner Robins, Albany, Columbus and Valdosta. Contact Steve Parker for contact information on these centers.
