PURPOSE: To provide a device (free of charge) when PALS is receiving Hospice care, has used their MDA grant or has an insurance funded device they can no longer access.
We have an inventory of speech devices, software and different access methods available to loan to PALS
PALS loaned equipment is available for as long as they need it. It will not be called back in.
If a PALS is waiting on an insurance funded device and has an urgent need we can give them a device while they wait.
We can also "Adapt" your current insurance funded device so you can access it in different ways as mobility changes.
If a PALS is not "medically eligible" for a speech device, but has problems accessing a computer we can provide software to help them.
IMPORTANT NOTE! - If a PALS enrolls in Hospice care, insurance coverage for many items will cease immediately. It is very important (especially if you’re waiting on delivery of a power wheelchair or a speech device) that if possible you wait for the receipt of the device BEFORE enrolling in Hospice!
