Pitfalls To Avoid

Waiting too long–Denial – When a patient loses their voice it can happen in a matter of weeks. Since it takes 3-4 months to get a speech device be realistic and apply as soon as eligible.

Choosing the wrong system – Its tempting to get a really small portable device – DON’T! Respect the advice of the professionals assisting you and get a device that will adapt “Long term” as your needs change.

HOSPICE Care – You Must receive your AugCom device before you receive any type of in home HOSPICE care or insurance will not cover ANY of the costs.

Abandoning your system – Don’t “give up” on your device because you can no longer access it. We can adapt your access method, or even swap for another device at NO cost to you!

Avoid assumptions – Read the 1st link off the home page “Mis-conceptions about AugCom” and avoid these at all costs!
