Welcome to our Resource Guide for ALS Patients, offering a distillation of national resources to provide Georgia PALS (“People with ALS”) with a smooth entree into the most comprehensive products and services for people with disabilities. This guide is designed to give guidance to PALS as well as their caregivers in order that they have the highest quality of life possible with the least amount of effort.
The ALS Association of Georgia (“ALSA of GA”) does not endorse or recommend any supplier of equipment or services, nor do we intend to suggest that any one business may be better than another. This is simply a guide to some of the establishments that advertise that they have a product or service that assists people with special needs. It is impossible for us to guarantee the accuracy of each and every entry in this Resource Guide, but every effort has been made to verify contact information of suppliers (addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, websites, etc.).
We have contacted vendors outside our region that have local Georgia representatives to assist with specific questions or to install and train the user on special equipment. A patient may wish to visit a store to comparison shop or to try out equipment before a purchase. Ease of warranty service, repairs, rentals, returns and an ongoing relationship with a locally owned business are some of the benefits to shopping close to home. Transportation needs, home health care services, service animals, support groups and hospice concerns are usually best addressed as nearby as possible. We have included local resources for products and services to provide a reasonable range of options for PALS. We do hope that you will find the information contained in this guide helpful and informative.
